La novela luminosa I have just returned from a trip through Argentina and Uruguay. The rest of the book is “The Bright Novel” properly speaking; it is more memoir–and a good one–than novel. It started great, with the diary full of quirky and funny remarks. That was literally the miracle. Not only that, the author quickly looses focus, the narration is shoddy, as the author constantly is apologizing for going off-topic, and the author is a real dick with homosexuals, dogs, even opera singers!
